Mice & Rats

Rodent Control in GTA & Southern Ontario

Mice and rats cause structural damage, contaminate food, and carry disease. Our 3-step program — elimination, sanitation, and permanent exclusion — stops the infestation and prevents it from returning.

How Do You Know If You Have Mice or Rats?

Rodents are nocturnal and stay out of sight, but they leave clear evidence. Ontario homes are particularly vulnerable in autumn and winter as mice seek warmth. A single mouse can produce up to 80 droppings per day and breed year-round.

  • errorDroppings — small, dark, rice-shaped pellets along baseboards, in cupboards, and behind appliances
  • errorGnaw marks on food packaging, wood, wiring, and drywall
  • errorScratching or scurrying sounds in walls, ceilings, or under floors — especially at night
  • errorNesting materials — shredded paper, insulation, or fabric in hidden corners
  • errorGrease tracks — dark smears along walls where rodents run repeatedly
  • errorAmmonia smell from accumulated urine in nesting areas

Why Traps Alone Don't Work

Store-bought traps eliminate individual rodents but do nothing to stop new ones from entering. Mice can squeeze through a gap as small as 6mm — the size of a pencil tip.

Without sealing entry points, a fresh population will return within weeks. Our exclusion program is what makes rodent control permanent.

Rodents also chew through electrical wiring, creating a fire hazard. Treatment is urgent.

Our 3-Step Rodent Control Program

The only approach that delivers permanent results.

Step 1: Eliminate

We deploy tamper-resistant bait stations and mechanical traps along rodent runways, in wall voids, and near nesting sites. Bait stations are child and pet-safe.

Step 2: Advise

We identify and advise on sanitation issues — food storage, clutter, moisture — that attract and sustain rodent populations. Addressing these is critical for long-term success.

Step 3: Exclude

Every entry point — pipe penetrations, utility gaps, foundation cracks, weep holes, vents — is sealed with rodent-proof materials. This is the step that makes results permanent.

Rodent Control FAQs

How do I know if I have mice in my home?expand_more

Look for dark, rice-sized droppings along baseboards and in cupboards, gnaw marks on food packaging or wood, scratching sounds in walls at night, shredded nesting materials, and a stale urine smell. Mice are active year-round but peak in autumn when they seek warmth.

Are rodenticide bait stations safe around children and pets?expand_more

Yes. We use tamper-resistant bait stations that require rodent-level force and body size to access the bait. Stations are also placed in areas inaccessible to children and pets, such as inside wall voids, under appliances, and in crawl spaces.

Why do mice keep coming back after I set traps myself?expand_more

Traps only catch existing rodents — they don't seal entry points. Mice can squeeze through a gap as small as 6mm. New mice from outside will keep entering until every access point is sealed. Our exclusion work is the permanent solution that traps alone can't provide.

How long does rodent control take?expand_more

Exclusion and baiting is completed during the service visit. Active rodent elimination takes 1–3 weeks. We include a follow-up inspection to confirm success and address any remaining activity under the Sanctuary Guarantee.

Can mice make me or my family sick?expand_more

Yes. Mice carry Hantavirus, Salmonella, Leptospirosis, and can trigger asthma through dander and droppings. Contaminated food and surfaces are a health risk. Prompt treatment is important for household safety.
